The part-time fitness instructor was waiting for the next train, headed to work when she unknowingly went into a seizure. When she came to, she found a handwritten note in her hand, along with a coffee and a bit of money for a taxi.

The note read:

"Hi Eleanor. I hope by the time you read this you are feeling better. You had a seizure on the train and I took you off. You didn’t hit your head, but I may have hurt your leg as I walked on it before realizing you were on the floor having a fit! Sorry! I’m also sorry I can’t stay with you now, but here is a coffee to perk you up later and £10 to make sure you get a taxi home. Sorry I don’t have anymore money, so I hope you don’t live far away. I’ve contacted people from your phone and medical help is on its way and you’re with train staff. Wishing you all the best and a quick recovery. Love Tom.”

Ellie was incredibly touched by the stranger's kindness. She says,

"I was very confused. Then I saw the note and the money and felt quite emotional – it was such a thoughtful thing to do. Anything could have happened. I could have hit my head, fallen off the train, been there for a long time."

And it wasn't just Ellie who applauded this mystery man. She shared the note on Facebook, and in no time it went viral, only deepening curiosity as to who this kind man was.

And so, Ellie took to social media, hoping to locate the man known only as Tom so that she could give him a proper thank you.

She used the hashtag #findtraintom, and her friends and family, who were also incredibly appreciative, followed suit. Even the Epilepsy Society joined in on the hunt, saying.

"Too often we hear or read about people either being ignored or mistreated when they have a seizure in public. This is an example of just how supportive and caring members of the public can be."

As for Ellie, she just wants the opportunity to thank Tom in person, as well as to return his money to him. The identity of her guardian angel still remains a mystery to all but our Heavenly Father, but his kindness will not be soon forgotten!
