It’s no secret Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson has no problem speaking his mind. And in true Duck Commander fashion, he laid down a whopper of a speech at the Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit. After pointing to several current events as proof of the death grip Satan has on this world, Phil Robertson asked a huge question. Do y’all love Jesus?

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson Speaks Up

Phil Robertson is just a good old boy sharing the Good News. And no amount of fame, money, or pressure is going to change that. So, put him in front of a microphone, and he’s going to use it to glorify Jesus. And that’s just what he did at the Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit.

Phil took the stage, pulling his Bible from his camouflage print bag and pointing to 1 Thessalonians 4: 11-12:

“Aim to live quietly, mind your own business, and earn your own living, just as I told you. That you may be respected by those who are outside, and may have need of nothing.”

This is how Phil says he tries to live his life, by spending a lot of time in the woods and in helping those who are “down and out.” He and Miss Kay work to help these folks find the type of restoration that comes from God alone.

“They’re working to get a chip in 30 days for being drug free,” Phil said. “I’m reminding them that the ultimate holder of the chips is the Almighty God in Heaven.”

As a part of living a quiet life and minding his own business, Phil says he’s never “turned on the internet and looked at it.” And when he hears all of the negativity swirling around, he chooses to respond the way Jesus taught him.

“When I hear about the vitriol and the hatred, just remember I love you,” he said. “I really do. You know why? I’ve identified you as human beings. So, I love you. And God loves you.”

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson Asks The Big Question

And this brings the Duck Commander to the big question:

“Do y’all love Jesus?” Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson asks.

Though Phil directs the question towards political parties and media outlets, it’s really a question for us all. And he answers the question for himself.

“Do you love him or do you hate him? I’ll unashamedly say I love him. I’ll tell anybody that,” Phil said.

And he goes on to explain why loving Jesus is such a big deal.

Those with little to no faith often point to the evil in this world and blame Jesus. They try to use it as proof that He either doesn’t exist or doesn’t care about His children. But Phil points out how their blame is misplaced.

“What’s wrong with Jesus?” Phil asks. “I’ve investigated Him. I’ve carefully inspected the Man. I can’t find anything wrong with Him.”

Phil uses Scripture to explain current events like the Las Vegas massacre and sexual abuse allegations against Hollywood producer and former studio exec Harvey Weinstein. Pointing to 1 John 5:19, he explains how the whole world is under the control of Satan.

“Satan has taken them captive to do his will…evil doesn’t need a motive. All it needs is Satan, working in people, prompting people,” Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson says.

The Hope Of Jesus

So why is loving Jesus so important? With Satan out there doing his best to stir up chaos, violence, and corruption, it’s God’s grace and mercy that saves all sinners.

“We give them the bad news first. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But you know what, we don’t need to forget something — Weinstein can be forgiven. Don’t forget that.”

As humans, we often like to compare sins in order to make ourselves feel better. But sin, big or small, is breaking God’s law. That’s the bad news.

But Jesus is the Good News! He came to save us all.

“Remember this: Grace is far better than the law,” Phil says in his speech. “Grace says all your past sins can be removed and never counted against you again.”

Now, how can you not love someone giving you that great of a gift?!

And after delivering such a powerful message in that brief time, he jokingly remarked:

“Can you imagine what you would hear if you gave me an hour?”

Well, for those who can’t get enough of Phil’s no nonsense approach to… well, everything — he’s getting his own show on Conservative Review TV (CRTV), a paid subscription based digital streaming network.

“What does a man do when they try to run him out of town for quoting a Bible verse?” Phil asks in a promotional video for the show. “I tell you what he does; he goes deep in the woods.”

And so, the show is titled “In the Woods with Phil.” Phil is done with being quiet. He promises to mean what he says and say what he means on the show.

“Here’s the deal, America” he says in the video. “These are my woods. Out here, I call the shots. Out here, we reject political correctness — or as I like to say, ‘pontificated crap’ — in favor of some good old fashioned biblical correctness.”

Kudos to Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson for staying close to God’s truth. Be sure to share this story with someone who needs a reminder of the Good News!
