How God Can Use You in an Even Bigger Way
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. – Luke 2:52
A tour group was making their way through the English countryside, stopping at several small villages along the way. In one particularly quaint hamlet, the group stopped to take some pictures of the scenery. One of the tour members asked a local in a rather patronizing way, "Which great man was born in this village?"
The village woman quipped back, "No great men were born here. Only babies."
It's been said, "Leaders are made, not born." That's because every single person who has ever lived started out the same – as a baby, unable to feed, clothe, or care for him or herself. All of us had to be taught how to do these things!
So what is it that turns those babies into great leaders like George Washington, Winston Churchill, or Martin Luther King, Jr.? It's not purely genetics. Rather, it is a deliberate process of development. Even Jesus Himself, as we see in today's verse, went through stages of development to become the person He was!
Your life has shaped you into who you are today. And it's never too late to grow even more. So keep growing in wisdom and you'll become someone God can use in an even greater way!
