She Read A Letter She Wrote On The Radio. What Happened Next Will Restore Your Faith In Humanity!

Turning Lemons Into Lemonade – as they say!

Most kids will put a lemonade stand on the corner of their yard to earn money for a bike or a new video game but not these two. They have something MUCH bigger in mind. A house. I know…that’s a really big goal! Read on and see how these two brought a community together and left their parents speechless!

10 year-old Alyssa De Le Sala, from Florida, took it upon herself to literally turn “lemons into lemonade” in a effort to help her mom and dad with home repair bills.

This family survived a fire that engulfed half of their home but now it’s been left by the contractors after only having completed part of the work.

So, Alyssa reached out to the local radio stations and built an adorable pink and yellow lemonade stand that she and her brother worked together.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12: 30-31

She wrote AND read on air the letter she wanted her community to hear. A plea. For help.

"[…] the contractors my mommy and daddy hired to build it took most of our money that we got from the insurance people but only finished half our house," Alyssa wrote in a letter to the Kane Show, asking for help getting the word out about her lemonade stand. "They ran off and now my mommy and daddy are stuck trying to come up with enough money to finish it so we can finally get home. I'm trying to help them by raising money at my lemonade stand this Saturday […]."

But what happened next left Alyssa “overwhelmed” and “speechless.”

Communities near and far came by that day for a cup of her lemonade. There were baked goods for sale as well. All in all, Alyssa raised $15,000 for her mom and dad. Who – as you might expect – were stunned!

"She took it upon herself to do something to help mommy and daddy," Jenn De La Sala, Alyssa's mother said. "I don't think she expected it to be anything like this either. We are so amazed. We knew we had a good community, but when you see everyone here, it is overwhelming, incredible," Jenn continued.

Take a moment and watch this interview and see just how special this little girl’s plan was.

What a beautiful display of community and love for one’s neighbor. May God bless this family and send a contractor to do the work that is trustworthy and complete. And also may God bless all those who gave of their money, resources, time, energy and prayers.
