The family lives in Florida. But Lucy’s condition means she must occasionally travel to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. That’s where Kelsey and 11-month-old Lucy were headed when a fellow passenger took notice of the mom flying with her sick baby.

And what this stranger did wound up going viral!

Act Of Kindness For Mom Flying With Sick Baby

The mystery guardian angel, now identified as industrial engineer Jason Kunselman, first noticed Kelsey and Lucy while they were waiting to board the plane.

“She had an oxygen machine for her daughter,” Jason explained. “It couldn't be put over her head and she had to have it with her the whole time. It was so touching seeing the little girl with her oxygen. I was tearing up as I saw her.”

Jason could have left it at that and gone about his trip. But instead, he decided to show compassion to a complete stranger. He asked the flight attendant if she thought the mom flying with her sick baby might be more comfortable in his seat in first class.

"I just hoped that she had a better flight with more room," he said.

This simple act of kindness had a huge impact on Kelsey.

“Not able to hold back tears, I cried my way up the aisle while my daughter Lucy laughed! She felt it in her bones too… real, pure, goodness,” Kelsey Zwick wrote in a social media post that wound up going viral. “It reminded me how much good there is in this world. I can’t wait to tell Lucy someday.”
