Hospitals Dress Leap Day Babies Up As Adorable Frogs

A Special Celebration For Leap Day Babies

For these precious babies born on Leap Day, they’ll have to wait another 4 years to celebrate their first birthday. And so, several hospitals came up with a way to make sure their day of birth was extra special!

It’s customary for hospitals to provide their newborns with their first hat. But the clever nurses at St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania decided to take it a step further for their new arrivals on Leap Day — donning them in festive green frog attire!

"We love to see our babies dressed up," said Sharon Johnson, clinical supervisor of St. Clair's family birth center. "The parents are so excited. They love to see things like this."

And while the precious little outfits brought tons of smiles, there were a few who took a bit of convincing. . .

Bundles of joy at Memorial Hermann in Houston were treated to their own Leap Day attire as well.
