Farmer Saves Baby Cow From Freezing To Death With Hot Tub

Farmer Dean to the rescue!

Have you ever seen a cow in a hot tub? Sounds like the beginning of a joke, doesn’t it? Well, I’m not kidding…it happened and it saved this calf’s life. Read on and see how Farmer Dean saved this little guy from freezing to death. This is super sweet and quick thinking!

Indiana farmer, Dean Gangwer, found a newborn calf stuck in the snowbank on his farm whose body temperature had dropped to dangerous levels.

Unknown to him, the calf was birthed by one of Gangwer’s cows that had wandered off.

To save the calf’s life, he took an unconventional method and quickly submerged the calf in his hot tub with him.

“I jumped in fully dressed, held [the calf] up so he didn't drown, and him and I had a nice bath for an hour,” Gangwer said.

He followed this by wrapping the calf, newly named Leroy, in electric blankets.

Thanks to Gangwer’s quick thinking, Leroy is safe and healthy now.

“Leroy’s officially done hot-tubbing. Some sunbathing is definitely in his future out in the grass, but definitely his hot tub days are done,” Farmer Dean stated.

We thank God for Farmer Dean’s quick thinking and love for this helpless creature of God.

Matthew 7: 7 teaches us, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
