Just last summer, a toddler fighting cancer made a plea, but it’s not the kind of plea that you would expect. She made a plea for pizza! Two-year-old Hazel Hammersley had faith enough to asked her mom and grandma to post a sign asking for pizza on her hospital room window. What happened next was more than the toddler hoped for.
A passerby saw the sign from the sidewalk posted a picture of the sign on a popular social media site called Reddit. When some generous strangers saw the picture online, they organized a truckload of pizzas to be delivered to the Children’s Hospital, causing for a full-blown pizza party.
Hazel’s mother, Lauren, never for a second doubted that God would heal her “little Hazelnut.” She said, “She is going to get through this journey. She is going to be strong and healthy at the end of it.”
This hope did not disappoint because this year Little Hazelnut is cancer free. Hazel’s family is so thankful, and we praise God for His healing power through Christ Jesus.
We pray that God will continue to heal all of his little children battling cancer.
