No matter how excited big brothers and sisters are for a new sibling sometimes they have a change of heart when the baby finally arrives. We’ve all seen the hilarious videos of big brothers panicking because the baby starts to cry, or the big sisters bursting into tears because they wanted a puppy. But every now and again a first meeting is truly magical and warms the hearts of everyone who sees it.
When this family found out they were expecting their second son they were understandably nervous to see how their firstborn would react to becoming a big brother. See their 5-year-old son has autism which means that they couldn’t guarantee how he would react. So when it was time for him to come meet his baby brother they all waited with bated breath. This 5-year-old big brother is so excited to meet his new baby brother.
Just watch as this happy little guy enters the hospital room flowers in hand and immediately lights up when he sees Mom with the tiny newborn. He walks over to her side and exclaims ‘I like him!’

Then this sweet boy climbs up onto his mom’s bed and holds his baby brother. It’s obvious that there is already so much love between these two and just watching them together makes my heart swell.

Seeing how sweet and gentle he is when he holds his brother is truly beautiful. There’s nothing like the bond between siblings and I just know this little boy will be a great big brother.
