Grandson’s Musical Surprise For His Grandma Leaves The Internet In Tears

There is something so special about grandkids taking the time and energy to do something special for their grandparents. And this grandson's musical surprise for his grandma is a winner.

Travis Ryan Smith's grandma wrote a country song 30 years ago called ‘Fishing In The Sky'. She had recorded the song on a cassette tape to keep and play for her family. She put the tape away not thinking much of it. Except this past Christmas Travis and his dad were visiting their grandma and they found the tape. They sat down and listened to it and that's when they devised a plan.

Travis had been recording some music recently and he and his dad Robert thought how neat it would be if Travis would record the song for his grandma. So they took the cassette and wrote down the lyrics and got ready for the surprise.

Travis took the song home and recorded it on a cassette tape so they could surprise grandma. So they took the cassette back to grandma's house and sat her down to hear Travis' ‘new' country song he recorded.

The music started and as soon as she heard the lyrics she knew this was no new song, this was her song! The tear started and she couldn't stop them. And I've go to be honest, I started crying too.

Watching as this incredible woman sat and heard her own grandson sing her song for her was a beautiful experience. And just listen to these powerful lyrics about Heaven: "And when we get to Heaven, God will know just what we like. He’s got a lake just for me and my sweet bye and bye. I’ll have a silver boat that sparkles, it’ll be lined with fleece so white. I’ll have a rod and reel that’s made of gold, the fish will always bite. I’ll have a cabin by the lake, shade trees will grow so high. There’ll be crickets and birds to sing when I’m fishing, fishing in the sky." What a beautiful song and such an incredible gift! Who else is feeling misty?
