These 50 mums all have one thing in common, they have a child with Down Syndrome. And they wanted to show the world that they wouldn't change a thing, so they filmed a carpool lip sync with the most beautiful message.
These moms are part of the ‘Wouldn't Change A Thing' movement that is bringing attention to the joy that children with Down Syndrome bring. As these incredible moms shared in an interview with morning show hosts Phillip and Holly, usually the news of a child with Down Syndrome (and many other ‘disabilities') comes in a shadow as if it is bad news. And even more tragically many pregnancies are terminated because of this very reason.
Well these moms wanted to step up and tell people it isn't tragic news and the first words out of your mouth don't have to be ‘I'm sorry.' Instead there are so many things to rejoice and look forward to.
So for World Down Syndrome Day (March 21st) they wanted to spread some of that joy. So they all got together and decided to record a carpool karaoke style lip sync to the song ‘A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri.
Joined by their precious kiddoes these moms used a special sign language called Makaton that was developed especially for those with learning disabilities or communication struggles. And when you see these incredible moms and kids you'll be moved to tears.
Don't worry none of these cars were moving and the car seats were just put in the front seat for the video. The lyrics of this song are so perfect for the love of a mother and it is impossible not to smile seeing these families together with such a beautiful song as the backdrop.
What a truly incredible message for parents everywhere, to embrace your kids and love them just how God made them! God bless these mommas for making this precious video!
