Dad and daughter, Mat and Savanna Shaw, sing Hallelujah in another one of their spectacular daddy-daughter duets. And their take on the Leonard Cohen classic is sure to bring on all kinds of chills!
Daddy-Daughter Duets Go Viral
Mat and his daughter Savanna are back again. If you don't know who they are, then you've been deprived of good, wholesome music that also has a message.
The pair began singing together when music-loving Savannah asked her dad to help her sing a song to show her friends in choir. Their daddy-daughter duets took off and the rest is history as their daily lives took an unexpected turn to bless our ears with their God gifted talent.
Mat and Savannah shared, "There is just something special about this song. It calms a troubled heart. It reminds us that even though things seem so chaotic, we can still find so many reasons to proclaim, ‘Hallelujah’. So pass it on, and share some peace in a very troubled world."
In this video, the pair are joined by the very talented Stephen Nelson who plays piano and lends his vocals, which blend beautifully with the father-daughter pair.
Their heart-rending and beautiful rendition of Hallelujah is a beautiful version you won't want to miss hearing. There is just something so hauntingly beautiful and relatable about this song. Everyone can relate to the loneliness, devastation, and how God comforts us all in those moments.
In fact, a little known fact about the song is how Leonard had reached a low point in his career when penned the lyrics in 1984. His record label didn't see anything special about the song and they didn’t want to release it either.
But thankfully, God had other plans.
Dad And Daughter Sing Hallelujah
Hallelujah has become one of the most well-known cover songs worldwide with various artists singing their version of the song. But, the daddy-daughter duet we all know and love took it to a whole new level, especially the way the pair serenade each other with the lyrics:
“Now, I’ve heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord”
And their video is going viral with more than 150,000 views so far! Mat and his daughter Savannah sing the song so eloquently, it reminds us there are so many reasons to proclaim, "Hallelujah" regardless of living in a troubled world.
Jesus said we will have trouble, not if but will, and this song is a great reminder we can still say, "Hallelujah" through it all, the good and the bad. Not only does this family team nail the beauty of this song.
Grab a tissue and be prepared to be blown away!
I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:1-4
