It does not feel like Christmas for this elderly woman. She lives in a nursing home and longs for things to be how they used to be.
She is having a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit. Even with other residents eating meals with her, she feels so alone. There is no family to visit with her. All she has are old pictures of her family and a picture of the house she lived in from so many years ago.

This elderly woman feels so lonely as she sits in her room. She is reminiscing about her life during Christmas time before she was living in the nursing home. One of the caregivers noticed how down the elderly woman was and thought of a way to bring joy to her this Christmas season.

She helped her get dressed in her warm coat, hat, and scarf and the two of them went for a little walk in the snow. They walked on a sidewalk that led to a little house tucked away behind a gate. The house was lit up with Christmas lights.

The caregiver then pulled out the picture of the house that they elderly lady always carried with her. That is when she realized that they were at the house she used to live in!
She could not believe it! It looked like it was filled with so much love and joy, just as she remembered. And that was just the thing she needed to bring her happiness.
