A homeless man found a lost purse and impresses everyone by going out of his way to return it.

It could have been so easy for Paul Calderbank to take all the valuables and the cash from a purse he had found. He was homeless and was in desperate need of help.

But instead of taking the money, he decided to do the right thing because his integrity and doing the right thing outweighed stealing.

But Paul didn't just go out of his way to return the purse he’d found. He made sure it ended up in the right hands–its rightful owner, Daisy Owen.

Homeless Man Found Lost Purse

After a fun night out with friends, Daisy couldn't find her purse. She did everything she could think of and finally gave up, thinking someone had likely found it and stolen its contents.

She had no idea was about to be blessed by Paul's efforts. Paul found the purse and spent two days searching for Daisy when he ran into one of Daisy's friends near her home. The friend immediately messaged Daisy to tell her about the unexpected blessing.

Not only did she get every penny back, but she received something else. It ‘restored her faith in humanity.'

Daisy said, "I am so grateful and so happy that there are people like this in the world. He is homeless and currently living in a hostel yet still didn't take a penny out of it." But then she read the note Paul put in the purse about wanting to do the right thing and return the purse to its rightful owner.

Suddenly Daisy knew what she needed to do. She wanted to bless Paul in return.

A Reward For Kindness

Daisy started a Go-Fund-Me page explaining that Paul found her lost purse and his current homeless situation. She was determined to put a roof over his head. And that's what she did! Initially, she was hoping to raise $1,500. Instead, she received over $5,000 to help Paul get an apartment. Isn't that incredible?

It's easy to assume the worst of people because of the world we live in. But if we let our light shine with integrity, honesty, mercy, and compassion, we can make the world a little brighter, one act of kindness at a time.
