Most of us had at least one hairstyle our parents didn't love when we were teens. I can even remember explaining that this really is how people are wearing their hair now. Well being a teenager, Max has a hairstyle his mom didn't love. Max decided to grow out dreadlocks. And that is not at all a quick process.

So for as long as his family can remember Max has had long dreadlocks. Max always took great care of them and his hair was the envy of many at school. But Max's mom just wanted him to look like her little boy again with a short haircut.

After feeling like he had had his dreadlocks long enough, Max decided that it was time for a change. He was ready to cut off his dreadlocks. Well when he made this decision he figured the only thing that could make it any better would be to surprise his mom.

So while she was out at work and then at the grocery store, Max got his haircut! With the help of a family friend, the long process of carefully cutting out the dreadlocks began. You can see the time-lapse of the incredible process and the slow transformation in this awesome video. And when his is done Max looks like a totally different person.

So then it was time for the surprise. His mom was coming home so Max's sister started recording. And when this momma walked in to see her son all clean cut she was ecstatic. She can't stop hugging him and smiling as she looks at his new hairdo. And this moment is not one she will forget any time soon!

You can tell mom does not even know exactly how to process what her eyes are seeing. But it is clear that she loves it. And what a sweet and wonderful thing Max did for him momma.
