With COVID-19 keeping everyone at home, Christian celebrity Mark Wahlberg and his wife, Rhea Durham, had an encouraging message for all of us on Palm Sunday. And what a great reminder in these troubling times!

Palm Sunday 2020 was unlike any most of us have ever seen. With the coronavirus pandemic in full swing, churches sat empty across the nation.

Though Live Stream options have at least kept most of us worshipping from home, not being able to celebrate this momentous time in-person has been hard on many Christians.

As a devout believer himself, Mark Wahlberg, alongside his wife, sent out a message of encouragement to all his fans as we navigate these unprecedented times.

Faith, Hope, And Love Remain Constant

For Mark Wahlberg, faith and family are the most important things to him.

“There’s nothing more important than faith and family,” he said.

He knows those two blessings take priority over everything else.

“I’ve been very blessed and very fortunate. And it’s because of the focus that I put on my faith and on my family that have allowed me to accomplish so many things,” Mark explained.

And so, while this virus has impacted nearly every facet of our daily lives, Mark Wahlberg, alongside his wife, reminds us to stay focused on the blessings we still have. Social distancing and quarantining from the coronavirus pandemic has caused the cancellation of so many events. But we still have the things that matter the most.

“We still have faith,” the Christian celebrity says, “And we still have each other. So let’s stay strong.”

The timing of this message is especially powerful, considering Holy Week marks the countdown to Christ’s crucifixion. But faith is what kept Jesus strong during his unimaginable suffering. And let’s not forget what came after His season of suffering — the resurrection!

Faith is what will help carry us through these trying times, too. And God will see us through to the other side.

Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
