How kind strangers helped a dad grieving over the loss of his baby will touch you!
From the time they had their baby’s first ultrasound Nathan Steffel and his wife knew that something just wasn’t right. They were prepared to face whatever challenges their precious baby girl would have, but they never imagined losing her.
Their Precious Sophia was born on May 30th. She lived for six weeks before she went back to be with Jesus. She died from a liver tumor on July 10th while waiting on a list for a transplant.
Nathan had one wish — to see his daughter without all of the cords and tubes that she wore for her entire little life. That is when he wrote a request and posted it on a popular website, all in hopes to get just one response.
This is what he said, “My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children’s hospital. Since she was in the hospital her whole life, we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?”
Dozens of photographers and artists spent hours upon hours using their best technology to help answer the cry of a grieving father.
One artist said, “I couldn’t sleep without at least trying.”
Another one added, “Wow, I’m going hug my newborn now.”
Nathan showed the retouched images to his wife, who was immediately brought to tears.
Nathan expressed his gratitude when he said, “I was overwhelmed with the response I got. My wife and I were so grateful so many people took the time out of their own lives to either send a nice message of sympathy or an awesome drawing. They couldn’t have made this father any happier.”
