A TV reporter abandoned his Live Broadcast in order to perform a rescue in an earthquake. A young girl was in danger and getting her to safety became his number one priority!
Yuksel Akalan is a reporter for A News in Turkey. And he was talking to the camera about an earthquake that had just happened in the area when a second one occurred. Then a nearby building collapsed, with many people fleeing the area in fear.
Yuksel and his cameraman started to run with other residents in the street while the camera was still filming. And that is when the reporter noticed a young girl and her mother in the road. The young girl was frightened, and Yuksel went to rescue her in the earthquake.
Reporter Comes To The Rescue In Earthquake
Yuksel went to comfort the girl immediately. He hugged her while she was crying and encouraged her to remain calm while he picked her up and helped evacuate her to safety. The kind act was recorded by Yuksel's cameraman.
Then the reporter spoke to an emotional resident in the street that was covered in dust from the latest earthquake. What a terrifying and heartbreaking moment for all of those people to witness. And how scared all of them must have felt!
Those recent earthquakes in Turkey have been the deadliest earthquakes the country has seen since 1939. And more than 2,300 people in Turkey and Syria have died because of the earthquakes.
Thank goodness the reporter was there to help rescue the terrified young girl during the earthquake, but our hearts go out to all of the people who have lost loved ones in this tragic event. May God be near them and comfort them during this horrific time.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
