Sometimes it can feel like teens these days don’t have the same respect for elders as with past generations. But young men like 15-year-old Romemylion Mitchell are out to prove the notion wrong.

While Tiki Joyner Edwards stopped to check on her elderly parents, she discovered they had a special angel looking out for them — this teen neighbor. Romemylion lives across the street and took a special interest in Trent and Cianne Joyner.
“He checks on them every day and has grown to love and care for them deeply,” Tiki explained on Facebook.
The special friendship meant Romemylion helped out any time and any way he could. From riding along with Trent to help with grocery shopping to mowing the lawn. And all from the goodness of his heart.
Teen Neighbor Goes Viral
Tiki Edwards immediately recognized this teen neighbor was something exceptional.
“Not many 15 yr olds would take the time to care and be there for elderly neighbors,” she said.

And when Cianne spent some time in the hospital, Romemylion’s reaction was especially moving. Tiki realized this young man was a God-send.
“When he saw Mom today he busted out crying and just held her tight,” she said. “What a blessing.”
This world can always use more kindness. And so, in 2019, Tiki decided to share the inspiring story of her parent’s teen neighbor online. And as you might expect, this young man’s compassion quickly went viral!
It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the darkness that exists in this world. But goodness exists, too. And Romemylion is a reminder that there is still hope for the future!
