For Christian singer Lauren Daigle, life was spinning out of control as loneliness and depression took over. But here’s how she found joy again. And as she shares her story, Lauren is hoping to help others undergoing similar struggles.
The world is a sad, dangerous and lonely place. Many in society are lonely, feeling as if they have no one to turn to or talk to when hardships and trying situations occur. This is a situation and a feeling that Lauren knows all too well.

In a clip posted on YouTube, the "You Say" singer opens up about her experiences with loneliness and how that impacted her mental health.
Lauren Daigle’s Life Spun Out Of Control
In Lauren Daigle’s life before the pandemic, everything in her career and life was moving so quickly. Then 2020 happened, and everything dramatically changed.
She states that in addition to loneliness, she experienced bouts of depression and anxiety. Lauren Daigle describes her life during that time as “absolutely spinning out of control.” She started therapy and saw a neurologist to help her through this difficult period.

However, Lauren Daigle says that she is grateful for this time in her life.
"Through the panic and through the anxiety, I said, ‘God, you have to return to me the joy of my salvation,'" Lauren said. ‘Like, the true joy. I don't want to be, I don't want to sit here and go through life just maintaining. I want to go through life with exuberance, with zeal, with passion.'"
Lauren mentions that when people let the Creator of the universe come into their lives and do that, it can completely change their perspective.
"And when you allow God to come into those broken places, and say, ‘I'll return to you the joy of your salvation,' it is, like, this beautiful lens gets added to your eyes," Lauren said. "And you're able to see through, it's like a glory filter. Like walking through life and seeing the Kingdom versus the things in the natural. Like looking at scenarios and saying, ‘Oh, I can run into that scenario because I know who has me.'"
Finding Hope In God’s Word
In the clip, Lauren mentioned how she was motivated by Paul and his words to the Romans when he wrote about rejoicing even during suffering.

Lauren says that despite all her fame and recognition, she desires to use all that to assist her fellow man. She wants to help others feel less lonely.
"I want to be someone who is known as helping eradicate loneliness," Lauren said. "Because I remember, before I was ever doing music, being in high school, being in junior high, l would look for the lonely person in the room. For whatever reason, God highlighted loneliness to me."
Lauren rightly mentions that talking to others, caring about their needs and seeing and meeting others where they are is in keeping with God's commandment to love your neighbor as yourself.
