Awards winning actress, Sally Field talks aging and how it impacts her life now. Hear what she has to say!
Sally is talking all about maturing and aging. She will be turning 70 years old very soon and she has a lot of wisdom and advice to share about embracing the season of getting older. She feels that women who work in the film industry should empower women who are watching the big screens. It would benefit others to see big stars embrace themselves and have a healthy self-image as they age.
Some people view aging as such a negative thing, especially in Hollywood. Great pressures come with the life of an actress, especially the pressure to be "forever young". This mentality has made a lot of aging actresses insecure, wishing that they can stop the clock.

That is why Sally Field decided to fully own her age and go against the grain of trying to be young as possible for as long as she can. She is not at all ashamed of her age and does not succumb to the pressures to appear ageless.
Even though she may feel bodily changes and some aches and pains in her knees, she does what she needs to do in order to take care of herself in this next stage of life. Her goal is to be healthy. And on her unhappy days, she reminds herself to breathe and be thankful.
She takes pride in what she has accomplished way more than she is concerned about her appearance. Her confidence and acceptance of herself are what she wants to be passed down to her children. And she believes that leading by example is the best way.
